This site exists because the pet aisle is good at obscuring where money goes. It would be absurd to run it without being explicit about where our own money may come from, and what that does and does not buy.
How we may earn money, and what it does not buy
We may earn money through affiliate links and, where a brand approaches us, clearly labelled partnerships. Whatever the source, the rules on this page do not change: rankings are not for sale, payment never buys the removal or softening of criticism, and every factual claim is traced to a source. Any sponsored piece says so at the top, before you read anything else.
Affiliate links
Some articles may contain affiliate links. If you follow one and buy something, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. Where an article contains Amazon links: as an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
- A product is never included, excluded, ranked higher or described more warmly because of a commission. The verdict is written first; links are added afterwards, if at all.
- Any article containing affiliate links carries a visible disclosure within the article itself, not only on this page.
How we handle facts
Every factual claim about a brand is traced to a primary source where available: a manufacturer’s statement, a published paper, a veterinary school, a regulator, or a named independent tester. Where we express an opinion, we say so. Prices and terms change constantly; treat them as accurate at the time of writing and check before you buy.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we correct the article and note what changed and when. Send evidence through the contact page.
This is not veterinary advice
Nothing on this site is veterinary advice. If your dog shows signs of pain, discomfort or a change in behaviour, consult a veterinarian. We describe general principles and published research; we cannot assess your dog.
